The Self is always authentic but it is in how much we live that Self and our awareness of it that we can access such as authenticity. We are all authentic if we operate from the premise that we are spirit embodied and that wherever we are we are meant to be as we are acting out of a script that we doctored in spirit. What bears such an authenticity is our awareness of it.

We can say on the other hand that we are being authentic when we know who we are within any context or even consciousness. Everything is consciousness whether we proceed from this or not. Our approval is not needed for a universal truth to remain so.

Authenticity can come from staying true to our belief. When we know what we are why we are and are true to that we are being authentic.

Authenticity is an awareness of the truth of yourself in how you present yourself. If your action or words reflect a true picture of you, as far as you are aware or can be at that point, then you are being authentic.

Maybe you are a consistent liar and to be true to that tag you will persistently lie. As long as you know you are doing that regardless of the root you are being authentic at that time.

But.

There is an authentic that comes from a knowing of the origin of you, and you can see yourself with depth and clarity. You can see why the mind, and you choose to live from a place of your authentic sense of self. In a way, authenticity then can be of two kinds or even more. One is borne of mind. And the other is borne of the whole.

The authenticity borne of mind carries with it notions potions fears coping mechanisms and more. The authenticity borne of the whole of you coming from an awareness of the whole of you, will be a totality of authenticity, an absolute if you like at least very close to.

Perhaps then authenticity can be regarded as a variable one when it operates from a fragmented sense of self; and a constant one when it comes from a whole sense of self. There is no better or more real authentic other than your own awareness of the part of you that brings forth that authenticity.

You can only be authentic when you are true to your self whether it’s parts of you or the whole of you. An authentic part of a whole or an authentic whole are both authentic.

What changes is not the degree of authenticity but rather the level of awareness of self. Authenticity is there when you can see your truth clearly.

Mostly we are fragmented or we give life to one facet of us more than another. We rarely live our lives from the sense of the whole of us because we may think and believe that we have arrived at the whole when you might just be on a stepping stone after all they are all just steps. And the steps are across all directions and not just up and down. Steps to our whole are not linear. These are multi dimensional.

How do we interact with one another authentically? Being aware of your self.
